Italian screenwriter Suso Cecchi D’Amico passed away at 96, reports The New York Times. She had a hand in classics like Bicycle Thieves and Big Deal on Madonna Street. Her death was first reported by the ANSA news agency earlier today and confirmed by her family. Italy’s president Giorgio Napolitano called her a ”great protagonist

After a four-week investigation, Multnomah County, Oregon District Attorney Michael Schrunk has dropped the sexual harassment case against former Vice President Al Gore, citing insufficient evidence.
